2. The Arbitration Committee
- An arbitration defined in clause 1 (a) (2) to (5) shall be held and dealt with by the Arbitration Committee of the Chamber (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee") of the Chamber.
- The Committee shall consist of not less than five members being the President , Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, and the Honorary Solicitor of the Chamber and such other members of the Advisory Committee of the Chamber as shall be appointed each year by the Chamber to hold office for one year. The Committee shall elect a Chairman each year to hold office for one year.
- The Chamber shall also appoint a Secretary of the Arbitration Committee. If the Chamber fails to appoint a Secretary of the Committee or the position of such Secretary falls vacant, the Secretary of the Chamber shall be Secretary of the committee until an appointment is made by the Chamber.
- The powers given by these Rules may be exercised by any person or persons deputed (generally or specially for that purpose) by the Committee, its Chairman (or Vice Chairman acting in his place), or its Secretary and may further, after appointment of arbitrators or umpire upon a dispute, be exercised by the arbitrators, or ( after they have entered upon the dispute) by the umpire, and all references to "the Committee" in these Rules shall be deemed to be references to any person or persons so deputed or the arbitrators or the umpire, as the case may be.
