e-Cert
e-Cert is a fast, cost-effective online service that allows export companies to apply electronically for EC and Arab Certificates of Origin. In 2005, the launch of e-Cert heralded a new generation in even faster, more efficient document processing.
Not only can exporters apply online, but with e-Cert, documents can be checked, approved, stamped by the Chamber and returned to the exporter electronically. Any mistakes or inaccuracies can be remedied immediately without having to be sent backwards and forwards in the post. Consequently, the system saves hours, and even days, for time-pressed export companies, and has been warmly welcomed across the UK.
More than 146,000 export documents have now been processed using e-Cert and a further 40,000 have been processed using a-Cert. At Chamber International 60% of export certification is now done electronically and this number is rising all the time.
NEW e-Cert Version 5
Recent developments in technology have enabled significant changes in the look and usability of e-Cert. Much of the re-design has been based on feedback from exporters and Chambers of Commerce.
The site has now been made more intuitive enabling exporters to setup their own account instantly, and a series of tutorials and field help are available throughout the site to guide new users.
e-Cert Version 5 is accessed through an interactive portal called e-Cert World which is a state of the art portal site where you can communicate with other e-Cert users, find out about other services available, or simply see what else is going on in the export world. This currently gives access to both V4 and V5 until we are sure that existing users are happy with the V5 user interface - V4 will then eventually be phased out.
